It is true that manifestation is born of intention, which is born of desire. Once the desire has been felt and the intention has been set, the process of manifestation is in play. However, in order to ensure the manifestation matches our vision without falling prey to fears and conflicting desires, we must apply deliberate and careful thought to that which we desire.
The commander of an army does not charge into battle with only the desire to defeat the enemy, believing that desire alone is enough to ensure victory. He must set forth a strategy and employ well developed tactics, understand the strengths and weaknesses of his troops and of the enemy, determine the surrounding terrain for advantageous positions, and calculate the best time to engage his opponents.
Much like the commander we need to carefully calculate our approach to achieving our goals. We need to have a vision of the terrain that surrounds us to calculate the best route to success. We need to have several options laid out before us to choose from in case one option proves to yield obstacles that are insurmountable. We need to understand the timing required so we know when to apply our efforts and energy, when to take decisive action, when to move steadily and carefully, and when to wait out a storm.
The act of mere wanting is not enough. The wanting serves the crucial role of propelling us into action, of moving us toward attaining our desired outcomes, but movement without deliberate calculation, assessment, and strategy leaves us at the risk of being blown off course by unforeseen incidents and circumstances. A well planned roadmap that provides for several contingencies and takes multiple options into account is the best means of ensuring we bring our original intentions to fruition.
