When we set our intentions to manifest what we wish to bring into our lives, we are looking to add into our lives that which we do not yet have, that which we are currently without. However, we need to be aware that we may have to make room for what we want to attract, which means surrendering something we currently have.
Everything has a cost. Often the cost to achieving our desires is giving up something we currently have, specifically something we enjoy or something we have grown quite accustomed to having. It is easy to give up a job we don’t want so we can land our ideal job, or to move out of the mediocre house into our dream home. What we often forget to consider is that other aspects of our life have to change to accommodate our new conditions.
All too often we envision our ideal lifestyle including the delights we currently have along with the new manifestation we had been desiring. The reality is if we are bringing something into our life that we do not currently have, we have to create space for it. The more enjoyable our manifestation the greater the space it will occupy. As a result, we will be required to surrender something we currently enjoy that we do not want to give up. This is the sacrifice required to gain our desired outcome. This is the cost.
An unwillingness to let go of something we want to hold onto in order to make space for that which we want will invariably hold us back. We may be leaning on our kept desire to keep from facing the change that comes with our desired manifestation. Perhaps we cannot learn how to accommodate the positive change as long as we have not released our old way of life, no matter how comfortable or enjoyable.
Not only does this release create room to receive that which we have been desiring, it also signals our greater selves and the Universe that we are ready and willing to accept this new life. If we continue to hold onto our current state, we are sending the message that we are not prepared for the greater change. Once we do so, we are making the statement that we have trust and faith that we will receive into our lives a better outcome.
